Flight 990 departed from Denver, Colorado, and was en route to San Antonio when the crew members began to feel sick. They alerted the captain, who diverted the flight to San Antonio International Airport.
Upon landing, the hazmat team boarded the plane and tested for hazardous materials. No harmful substances were detected, but four of the crew members were evaluated by emergency medical personnel as a precaution. They were all determined to be in stable condition and no one was hospitalized.
All passengers deplaned safely. The airline is investigating the cause of the odor and the plane is being evaluated by its maintenance team.
In a statement, Frontier Airlines said, "We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience this incident may have caused. The safety of our passengers and crew is our top priority and we are working to determine the cause of the odor as quickly as possible."
This is the second incident in recent days involving a Frontier Airlines flight and a fume-like odor. On Tuesday, a Frontier Airlines flight from Denver to Orlando was diverted to Jacksonville, Florida, after crew members reported smelling a fume-like odor. No passengers were affected on that flight either.
